Your profile: 
The successful candidate holds a doctoral degree in chemical ecology or aquatic ecology. Expertise in analytical chemistry, infochemical research, bioassay-guided purification or molecular techniques and a strong publication record are assets. Experience in the chemical ecology of freshwater organisms is appreciated, but not mandatory. Further requirements include the capability of conducting independent research, scientific writing, and good communication skills. German language skills are not required but preferable. 

We offer: 
The position is available for 12 months starting on Nov 1st, 2015.Potential extension will depend on available funding. The candidate will have access to state of the art analytical instrumentation, e.g. HPLC, GC-FID, GC-MS and UPLC-HRMS and excellent facilities for cultivation, in particular of freshwater organisms (see also:www.uni-koeln.de/math-nat-fak/zoologie/oekologie/agvonelert/index.html). The candidate will work within an interdisciplinary team that covers research ranging from molecular techniques over infochemical-related research to interactions of primary producers and herbivores. The place of work will be the Biocenter at the University of Cologne, a friendly and international working environment within a vivid city.
