The Department of Molecular Neurobiology of Behavior, Johann-Friedrich-Blumenbach-Institute for Zoology and Anthropology, Faculty of Biology and Psychology at the Georg-August-University Göttingen, announces the following open position:

PhD Position in Neurobiology (TV-L 13 (65%)) for three years on the topic

Developmental and experience-dependent neuronal plasticity: physiological and anatomical analysis of mushroom body neurons in Drosophila

The project involves the use of a wide range of methods and technologies from the fields of molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, in vivo two-photon-microscopy, and behavioral analysis. We seek excellent candidates with a Master degree in Biology or related areas, very good skills in scientific English (oral and written) and a deep interest and training in behavioral and cellular neurobiology. Experience in Drosophila neurobiology and programming skills are advantageous. We expect high motivation, creativity, a cooperative personality, and integration into the research team. We offer a PhD position for three years, scientific research within a highly motivated, international team and fully equipped laboratories with state-of-the-art facilities. The PhD program offers comprehensive mentoring, opportunities for conference presentations, for acquiring teaching experience, and further support for career development.
