Oslo, Norway: Postdoc and PhD position in Aquatic Ecology |
Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Aquatic ecology and Evolution (ref no 2015/3435): Oslo, NorwayApplication deadline: 13 April, 2015 Zooplankton exhibit a wide range of life history strategies. While studies on zooplankton growth and development in relation to food and temperature abound, few address trade-offs underlying the links between these processes, and even fewer have considered how additional stressors impact on life history-traits in general. The successful candidate will work experimentally with copepod systems to examine how predation risk can modify trade-offs and responses in life history traits of zooplankton. The project combines aspects of pelagic ecology and evolutionary biology with a strong experimental focus. Experiments will target relevant life history responses both at individual and population levels, and through successive generations.
