The Chair of Animal Breeding of the Technische Universität München (TUM) in Freising-
Weihenstephan (www.tierzucht.tum.de) offers a doctoral position in the field of cattle
genomics. The offered position focuses on the analysis of next-generation genomic data
for the detection of DNA variants affecting bovine disease phenotypes and on the
implementation of diagnostic tests.
We seek candidates with a degree in agricultural sciences (preferably), in biology or
veterinary medicine, who are highly motivated to immerse themselves into big data
analysis for solving practical problems in animal breeding.
While pursuing a doctoral project at the Chair of Animal Breeding, the doctoral candidate
will be automatically a member of the TUM Graduate School (TUM-GS). Through a wide
range of courses, seminars and financial support, the TUM-GS program provides the
opportunity for additional qualification, networking and expanding the international and
interdisciplinary horizon.
The position is available at the earliest possible date for a period of three years. The
salary is in accordance with âTarifvertrag für den Öffentlichen Dienst der Länderâ TV-L
E13/50%.
