A fully funded doctoral scholarship in evolutionary/biological
anthropology is available at the University of Oxford, to study the
evolution of human social and cultural behaviour.
The specific focus of the project will be determined by the interests
of the student. A number of directions at the interface of biology and
anthropology are possible, ranging from comparative studies of social
behaviour across species to field-based data collection and analysis.
The student will be supervised by Dr. Laura Fortunato; co-supervision
will be arranged where possible, and depending on the focus of the

The ideal candidate will have training in anthropology, biology or
related subjects, an excellent academic record, and
quantitative/computational skills. The student will be based at the
Institute of Cognitive ad Evolutionary Anthropology at the University
of Oxford, to begin in October 2015.

open to applicants of any nationality, but who have been ordinarily
