âBiodiversity and ecosystem services in agricultural landscapesâ
We offer a Research Scientist (Postdoc) position at the Department for Animal Ecology and Tropical Biology, Biocenter, University of Würzburg, Germany for three years with possible extension for further three years.
The position is linked to the EU-projects Ecodeal, Liberation and STEP. The successful candidate will analyse existing large-scale and long-term data sets on the community dynamics and ecosystem services of pollinators and pest control organisms in agricultural landscapes, initiate new projects and contribute to teaching.
The candidate is expected to hold a PhD degree in Ecology, Biodiversity or a similar discipline and to have a very good publication record. Further requirements are a very good knowledge of ecological statistics (using R) and experimental design, experience in insect ecology, landscape ecology, community ecology or agroecology, very good writing and communication skills, ability to work independently and self-motivated, motivation to work in interdisciplinary projects, and the willingness to teach undergraduate students and to supervise Master and PhD students. We offer the membership in an ambitious research team, modern facilities and an international research environment.
Salary and benefits are according to public service positions in Germany (TVL 13, full position). The possible start date is between 1st July and 1st October 2015.
