Trondheim, Norway: PhD on telomere dynamics in House Sparrow PDF Tisk Email
A PhD position is available at the Department of Biology at the
Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim
on the functional relationships between telomere dynamics, physiology
and life history traits in a small passerine bird, the House Sparrow
(Passer domesticus). 
 We are seeking a highly qualified candidate
with a background in either evolutionary, behavioral or population
ecology or eco-physiology. It is an advantage if the candidate has
laboratory experience in genetic analyses.  The aim of the PhD project
will be to investigate central questions related to the functional
associations between telomere dynamics, physiological parameters and
individual behavior ("personality"), and how these are associated
with trade-offs between life history traits such as growth rate,
body size, reproduction and lifespan. Read more about the project here:
