The Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (IZW) in Berlin is
Germany’s premier wildlife research institute, one of eight research
institutes in the Forschungsverbund Berlin e. V., a member of the
Leibniz Association and jointly funded by the German federal and state
governments. The IZW focuses on the life histories and mechanisms of
evolutionary adaptations of mammals, their limits and their conservation
in natural and anthropogenically influenced environments.

3-year research position in Evolutionary Genetics at Centre for Ecological

Ostrava: PhD position in human genomics and genetic anthropology PDF Tisk Email

A PhD position in human genomics and genetic anthropology is available for 4 years at the Department of Biology and Ecology, Faculty of Science, University of Ostrava, Czech Republic. There are two ongoing projects. i/ Genome analysis of the Ket people of Siberia and neighboring populations, for the first time demonstrating their links to ancient and modern Native North Americans. ii/ Y-STR study of ancient Xiongnu samples from China revealing a possible genetic link of Ket and Xiongnu, and tracing the hypothetical Xiongnu dispersal during the Hunnic migrations.

Aberdeen, UK: Postdoc, avian extra-pair reproduction PDF Tisk Email
We seek a Research Fellow in Evolutionary Ecology to join the research
group of Professor Jane Reid at the University of Aberdeen, United
Kingdom. 
The post is central to a European Research Council-funded project that
aims to firstly, build new theory explaining the evolution and persistence
of mating systems and reproductive strategies, and secondly, test this
theory using more than 20 years of complete life-history and pedigree
data from free-living song sparrows (Melospiza melodia).
