We invite applications for a postdoctoral research fellow to join the laboratory of [UTF-8?]“Formation and Evolution of Color [UTF-8?]Patterns” at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Biology at the [UTF-8?]Collège de France in Paris, France.

The [UTF-8?]Collège de France, located in the Center of the vibrant city of Paris, is a unique public teaching and basic research Institution with a long-standing history of scientific excellence and equipped with state of the art facilities (www.college-de-france.fr).

Our laboratory focuses on the developmental processes that shape the evolution of color pattern, one of the most diverse and crucial adaptive traits. We use avian models (quails and Zebra finches) and combine field-based work and phenotypic analyses, forward genetics, in ovo micro-manipulation and cellular and molecular biology, to study the morphogenetic events and molecular pathways responsible for the formation of discrete compartments in the developing skin.

This specific project aims at elucidating the nature and origin of molecular signals providing positional information to pigment-producing cells in the Zebra finch embryo using cell lineage and quantitative genetics experiments. The position is for 3 years, funded by Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL), and is available immediately (although the starting date is flexible). We seek motivated candidates with a strong training in developmental biology and / or genetics. For more information about projects and the laboratory, please visit: www.manceaulab.com
Applicants should send a cover letter (briefly describing research interests), a CV and contact information for academic references to  Tato emailová adresa je chráněna před spamboty, abyste ji viděli, povolte JavaScript
